Gibson's Moderne of Doom

Re: Gibson's Moderne of Doom

I don't hate the finish or the shape. But another mohagany set neck with emgs? Could this possibly sound any different than the coffin w the Floyd? Or his V with the Floyd? Or.....

Re: Gibson's Moderne of Doom

I like that V headstock on a Dean. I have GAS for a Dean anyway, wanted one since I was a kid in the 80s looking at hot girls holding them in Guitar Player magazine. But the rest of the guitar, uh.... no.

Re: Gibson's Moderne of Doom

Interesting! Should have used the paddle headstock...... :P Billy Gibbons claims to have an original, but wont let anybody inspect it.

There are no originals. Billy's not a shy boy, if he had one he'd be showing it off to the world. BTW, there have been no shortage of fakes made over the years.

Zakk is known for his sophisticated and impeccable taste, of which this guitar is a prime example. I imagine there's precious few players that would be seen on stage playing one of those. EMG's are just icing on the cake.

Don't forget the SG-V,whatever that's called... :32: Sorry, BTMN.....

I missed this the first time through. :headbang:

Zack has had some funky guitars. Gotta say though my Korina Splittail is much more Bad Ass than his was. Bull's Eye deal was Cool the first 10 times. :eek5:

You don't have to like the shape. I'm way cool with that. I take no offense. It is a pretty one though and plays and hangs great. Not as big as you might think either.

Re: Gibson's Moderne of Doom

Stand it up, and it reminds me of Beetlejuice's striped suit.

Which should add some credibility or cool factor to the guitar, but for some reason does not. Fail.

Re: Gibson's Moderne of Doom

Ted McCarty, swears that they did make a few, and that the one Gibbons has is real.

Then why would Billy keep it such a secret? Doesn't make sense if he had a real one. With all the stupid things he's done to attract attention over the years, he's Mr Modest about the world's most sought-after guitar? I doubt it.
