Gigging with a combo? Advice needed please!

Re: Gigging with a combo? Advice needed please!

I was gigging with a Splawn QuickRod 100 watt head and a Marshall 4x12 cab.

Now I use a 65 Amps Lil Elvis 12 watt head and a 65 Amps 1x12 extension cabinet.

I couldn't be happier. I grab two guitars, my pedalboard, and my amp and I'm setup in a few minutes. And I don't even need another person to help me load up my 4x12 cabinet.

When I'm playing live I'm almost always going through the house system (or our own PA system). I've never had any sort of volume problems.

My amp also has in the built in power scaling that acts as a sort of built in attentuator that retains the original character of the amp at lower volumes.

^very cool 12 watter! I play doomier stuffs so diff voicing - I like the blackheart 15 watt that you can switch to 7 watts but that one sounds better, Id prolly have to go orange or marshall cause Im into the sludgier sabbath type stuff...

Killer amp bro- I've been looking at this as well as the Tupelo- these amps sound absolutely fantastic! I've started a fund to save up for one or the other :D

Cheers guys!

The MESA is kinda out of the running now as I've decided to go for something a bit simpler and try to cut my dependence on the pedals so much.

At the minute I'm looking at either a Cornford Roadhosue 30 or an Orange Rocker 30, although I am open to similarly priced/spec'd amps if anyone has anything to recommend?

ive been gigging with my 40 watt hot rod deluxe no sweat.

Thanks for the suggestion, but while I like the clean channel, I really dislike the drive channel, so I wouldn't be gaining anything from it as I'd still have to rely on pedals for all my drive tones.

Thanks though!
