i was going through some old stuff the other day, and found $270 in an old wallet of mine. needless to say it made me damn happy. but im happy with all the pickups i have, and ive bought two really expensive guitars in the last 6 months, so im good on that front too, and im really happy with my amp. now im not saying $270 is my limit, i could always go into the money i was previously aware of, but how bout you guys just throw out some random gear ideas that might tempt me, cause i really cant think of anything. pedals, other gadgets, etc. any kinda gear stuff, go ahead

Then with the left over money you can buy me a brass neckplate for my next guitar.

It'll be the best practice rig you ever heard.

Buy the entire First Act series of guitars and equipment from Walmart. You'll probably even have some money left over for new pickups.

Start buying stuff for the old home studio, a Tascam or a Fostex, or Cakewalk software.

Someone once asked Zappa how he could afford such a great home studio, and he said "because I don't do cocaine."

I second the Vox tonelab, cause I've seen em for $200 on ebay.

Also, check out Crate's Power Block - way cool.

These are fun - you could get several with your cash. Tube PAs turned into guitar amps. I've got like 4 of 'em, they're so cheap. This guy is great:

Maybe get a beater Kramer or Steinberger from musicyo.com, or one of those cheap-but-fun axes off ebay, like a Jay Turser, Raven, or Michael Kelly. Hell, get the Carvin kit guitar and have a ball putting it together.

Mabye a Carvin 2-12" for your combos so you can have a true half stack set up, or maybe even a stack and a half, if you can hook up one of the combos like a 2-12 cab and bypass the amp.

Drum machines are fun and very useful - like Boss's DR-550 or Alesis's equivalent. They're cheap used.

I've been wanting a mini-disc player/recorder - I think it would be indespensible when jamming with others.

Might as well stock up on some books too: Zen Guitar, some of Dan Erlewine's. There's probably some cool training DVDs out these days, but I don't know any names.

I've wanted an analog synth for a long time to get some kickin' 70s sounds. I have no idea how it would sound or work with guitar though.

i have a bass. maybe i should buy a bass amp :laugh2: ive been alright without one for the last 6 months though haha.

i already use my v-amp for recording stuff (nothing serious so i dont need anything expensive), and the spider II gets the job done just for taking with me to school and stuff, i dont need anything more. and, my parents bought it for me for last xmas, so i dont really wanna sell it (at least not this soon).

and i have a mini vox 1w amp, so i dont need one of those mini marshalls

and im not really a pedal guy. maybe a chorus pedal couldnt hurt. so i guess thats what its down to. bass amp or chorus pedal? i could always keep saving for the warmoth RR i wanna do, but thatll take a lotta saving (with all the stuff i want on it, itll end up being like $1200)

To me, having a chorus pedal AND a phaser is kind of pointless. I know they sound different, but they're similar enough so that you can use either or for most songs, you know?

I'd get a full new set of tubes for that XXX .
