Giveaway - Guess my new amp, get a speaker cable.

Re: Giveaway - Guess my new amp, get a speaker cable.

I could use a two-foot speaker cable, but I need another cab to really put it to use. ;)

That amp looks sharp in the green/gold. Ironically, my friend was flipping through the new Guitar Player magazine yesterday, and pointed that amp out to me. I'm curious about how it sounds compared to the first Stilettos.

That's one Mesa I'd like to have!

Re: Giveaway - Guess my new amp, get a speaker cable.

They sound awesome...I liked the original Stilettos, but they were REALLY hard to dial in...the Ace combo I tried was much easier to get great tones out of...more user friendly and sounds even better. Very Cool amps...I'd still prefer a warmer less grindy speaker, but yeah the V30 sounds nice and tight in that combo and not so nasally.

I'd buy one in a heartbeat if I had a place to play where I could get some volume on it.

Congrats Steve :bigthumb:

Re: Giveaway - Guess my new amp, get a speaker cable.

Thanks guys! I'm lovin' the Crunch channel in the Spongy power mode (Variac'd) with tube rectifier. Mesa really provides a great manual with some factory settings to familiarize yourself with the tone variations. I'm reading it a couple of times to get the best out of how the various settings interact together.

BTW the clean channel is gorgeous - even with the stock Wolfgang pups, which are coming out soon. I'll get to crank 'er up this weekend but it's safe to say my other amps have been stepping stones to this one. Diggin' it!

Mesa makes some good stuff, I agree that the original Stilettos sounded good after spending some time dialing them in. I'd love to hear the newer versions, they're supposed to be great. :)
