Gloss body with natural / Unfinished neck

Re: Gloss body with natural / Unfinished neck

Is this a serious question?

I mean, look at how many thousands of guitars are exactly that way...I don't see an issue myself

Yeah, I'm more concerned about an unfinished headstock. I'll post a pic later. And its on a Paduak neck, so I'm not gonna try and finish it.

Re: Gloss body with natural / Unfinished neck

I think it won't be a problem but I prefer Satin and Natural finishes to Gloss...

Re: Gloss body with natural / Unfinished neck

Pretty much all Squiers are that way too; if not unfinished, then Satin, or whatever they do.

(I acquaint satin necks with cheap guitar, so dislike the combination. Know everyone else enjoys sanded down necks...)

Re: Gloss body with natural / Unfinished neck

My Music Man is like that, but actually, I am usually not a fan of gloss anything.

Re: Gloss body with natural / Unfinished neck

didnt the Zac Wild Les Paul with the bullseye paint scheme come this way? Seems like I saw a pic of it and on the back of the neck it was unfinished but the headstock was finished. I could be wrong but I think it was on one of those vids on Youtube of the artists guitar gear or something.

Re: Gloss body with natural / Unfinished neck

Much prefer not having a gloss finished neck. Unfortunately, I only have a couple favorites without the gloss.

Re: Gloss body with natural / Unfinished neck

VanHalen striped series is this way. Now I remember, sorry I played one last January but forgot what it was till now. Ya I hate the lacquer crap too on necks. Talk about miserable. I prefer satin finish or a real lite Nitrous finish that will slick up quick when it's broken in

Yes, it did. I miss my Bullseye...

Re: Gloss body with natural / Unfinished neck

I think You Folks are somewhat off-tangent, but thanks anyhow. All the guitars mentioned or the pics you Folks posted of the Folkin' guitars ,had at least a folkin' Satin finished with the Folkin' Gloss bodies.
To be folkin' clear on this, I mean a totally Au-natural, in the buff unfinished body with a High Gloss finish mated to an totallyt unfinished folkin' neck ( in this case a folkin' Gloss Poly Body with a 'Goncalso Alves' wood Shaft/ Ebony Fretboard neck).

See what the Folk I am talking 'bout now Willis?. To me , it looks like a work of Dagas, er, Dawgass. BTW, I also hate Gloss Poly, and almost wish't I would'ana bought this, but a good solid Hawaiian Koa body is kinda hard to come buy at a good price. Oh my folkin' nuts..my folkin' Hawaiian Macadamia nuts.;
