Go Ahead And Laugh, But This Thing Sounds Great To Me: Marshall Code 50

Re: Go Ahead And Laugh, But This Thing Sounds Great To Me: Marshall Code 50

These amps get good reviews. I have been looking for a small amp for my teaching studio, too.

OMG, that recording is terrible. How can you judge anything from it?

Not saying the amps are bad, but I wouldn't base anything off that video personally.

it sounds like if marshall built their version of a fender mustang..so if you like the mustang and what it does for fender style amps, but want marshall models, you will like the Code. it was really overhyped and they have some issues with software and rattling/buzzing cabs.

meant to add- i tried the 25, wanted to use as a practice amp, but it did not seem to like pedals into the front end. things got squishy/glitchy. My little blackstar and the vox modellers handle pedals much better.

"Uh, That's Nickleback stuff there."

I have one as well and I really like it. Not everything is great, but I really like it. The Bluetooth app is awesome as well. I use it to change effects like a pedal.

Re: Go Ahead And Laugh, But This Thing Sounds Great To Me: Marshall Code 50

This is like a single channel, right? With every 'preset' changed via bluetooth? Or can it store several settings on the amp itself?

You can do both. I can change them in the program connected or unconnected and sync them or leave them separate. It has the app side or your push the page to the amp side and make changes on either. Really useful.

It has 100 modifiable patches and you can buy a footswitch to go with it. The Bluetooth app is more to tweak all the effects.

I have a Code 50 and I LOVE it! LOVE IT! Had a Blackstar HT 20, never played it. Too much hassle to set it up with the pedals I needed to get the sound I wanted so it lived in a cupboard for a year until I sold it. Then I got a Marshall DSL 5C and it sounded so good but again, needed pedals to just jam with so I sold it.
Got the Code 50 and I literally play it every day. I have it sitting beside my desk and it's usually plugged into one of my guitars, ready to pick up and just jam along to AC/DC or whatever I'm playing on my laptop.
The fact I don't need pedals - just turn it on and it sounds awesome within two seconds - is fantastic to me.
I have a patch called "Guvnor" which sounds just like AC/DC when I use my 2016 SG Standard.

Best amp I have EVER owned for practicing and just having fun!

EDIT - I should add, the bluetooth app does NOT work on my Samsung S5, OR my daughter's S4 Mini, and Marshall don't seem to be able to fix the issue as loads of folk have the same troubles. I was lucky as I was able to get my Galaxy Tab 4 to work, even though it apparently isn't compatible with the app! I had to go to some trouble just to install the damn app on the tablet but thankfully once I managed it, it worked!

He seems to be playing all the songs just a little bit wrong for some reason :friday:

a lot of the guys at the marshall forum weren't thrilled when these came out, so i've avoided them. Sounds good in this clip though, i agree

I have one, and it's a pretty great amp. A lot of the stock pat hes are terrible, but once you dial in a couple, it can sound really great. I play it everyday, and I've jammed it with my band, and I didn't need to turn the volume over halfway. The best budget modeler imo.

The Marshall forum only have a handful of user-created patches available to download and most of them are total crap. Looking forward to some clever guys uploading some really good Maiden, Metallica, Def Leppard, AC/DC etc tones!

There's a third party website, I've made some Megadeth patches. Just search CODE patches and you should be able to see it
