Godin LGP-90 Electronic issue ?

So I did not play my main guitar for a few weeks and when I plugged it in yesterday it sounded like it was breaking up (distorted) on the clean channel and crackled in and out when I pressed or moved the volume knob

Any idea what could be wrong? is it fixable ?

I find that you'll get a few more months out of them if you use some contact cleaner, but you're going to have to replace the pots sooner or later once they start crackling. Only takes a few minutes with a soldering iron.

thanks guys I will try the contact cleaner ... I'm not really handy so replacing the pots I would let my shop do

Last time I had crackly guitar pots I sprayed WD40 in them, it was in 2008, its been only a month since I've noticed that they are tiny bit crackly again but that can be due to the rains at my place :scratchch

I did the same thing with my wah pot thinking that it may help in increasing its life & it actually started crackling

Get DeOxit electrical contact cleaner, I've heard those are the best out there. I think the one that doesn't affect plastic would be great to have around from their selection but the ordinary one works too. :)
