Godin Pickups

Re: Godin Pickups

The Flat Five would have had Godin OEMs, so as I recall they're both ceramic HBs, neck ~ 8.5k and bridge ~10k. I can track down exact numbers (wire gauge, turns, etc.) if you want but while they're good for stock pickups, they're hardly exceptional.

Re: Godin Pickups

neck reads4,the bridge reads 7.3,both adjustable poles with covers. Thanks for infro,i like to buy up so called weak sounding pups(cheap),most times it is not the pups but the electronics in the guitar that make the pups weak, the biggest
culpit are the crappy caps being installed by the makers.

Re: Godin Pickups

I wonder if they are the same pickups that are in my Godin Solidac.... my Solidac pickups i like a lot!!!! one of the few guitars i never modded with aftermarket PickUps...

WhoFan,I forgot to mention that these godins are 4 wire-Red,White,Green and Black.

They maybe the same as the ones in my Solidac but i have not been inside it in years so i forget what the wires are.... The Godin site has 0 info on the Flat Five.....

Re: Godin Pickups

Is there are number on them? I believe the Solidac and many of the others have the GHB1 and GHN1 pickups.

The Solidac has the same pickups as the rest of the old Performace Series (SD, SDxt, etc.) which are the ones whose specs I posted above. I dug up my old catalog, and it seems the Flat Five is the one guitar that did have different OEM pickups, you can probably call/e-mail Godin if you're really interested.
