Going to college, gonna scrap the halfstack

Re: Going to college, gonna scrap the halfstack

If you love that amp- you probably aren't going to find another one just like it.

Played JCM 900's for years bought a Prosonic and never looked back!!
Zinky designed the Prosonic and the Blue Velvets both to work with a wide variety of pickups and also to be usable at low volumes. The Prosonic has a MUCH MUCH better clean a more versatile crunch and a LOT more gain on tap than your JCM 900. A nice Prosnic combo will set you back $600-a cool grand depending on color condition and if it is a early CS amp or later one. A Prosonic will get solid tones at super low volumes and still knock the windows out when you crank it!! Add a good 2/12 cab to a Prosonic combo and you will never miss the Marshall halfstack!!

Sorry, but no. I've played the Prosonics before and they're completely different animals than the JCM 900s. Prosonics definitely have a far better clean, but in terms of fat, open sounding ballsy crunch; Marshalls just have it. Every Prosonic I've ever played was far more like Mesa than Marshall.

Dude .... you are 21 and you are going to collage .... with the right attitude that marshall half stock could be as much of punnani bate in college as a ferarri, plus in a dorm room or any poor arse room for that matter occupied by A dude in his twenties - a half stack marshall can be usefull in many different ways, but I cant go into that, I will get banned for three months again.

Mine didn't allow them either, but it didn't stop most people. And I never heard of anyone getting in trouble for it.

Although it existed, I never enforced it.

Mostly I asked my residents to just throw a towel or flag over it when they weren't playing it and no one would be the wiser.

I know the guy that made it an issue. He made it a habit of being as disruptive as possible and ruined it for everyone.

Having gone back to college at 23 I can assure you that the amp isn't required and after moving it to new digs repeatedly every few months, as college students in dorms always seem to have to it gets old....very old.

It's also important to note that Indie will be living on an off-campus apartment, of which they're notoriously slack in regards to security and prone to theft.

He neither wants it or needs it there. And unless he finds himself in a band situation where it would be put to good use then it's better to remain somewhere safe.

What else is college for ???? To go back married at 30 to find yourself 3 years later in hell called - "a real job"?

I was in Nashville, Tennesee last year. After the show I went to a Waffle House. I'm not proud of it, I was hungry. And I'm alone, I'm eating and I'm reading a book, right? Waitress walks over to me: "<smack smack smack smack> Hey, whatchoo readin' for?"

Isn't that the weirdest question you've ever heard? Not what am I readING, but what am I reading *for*? Well, godammit, ya stumped me! Why do I read? Well... hmmm... I dunno... I guess I read for a lot of reasons, and the main one is so I don't end up being a waffle waitress.

Yep....that about covers it.
