Goldea Rex 3200 15 watt high-gain tube head/ 2x10 cab ~ Riffs/Leads

Phantasmagoria

watch where you point that sabre

Sounds to me like it's got a bit of an 80's metal/hot-rodded Marshall/(..and especially) JCM800 thing going for it with the gain dialled back a little..

Random riffs/licks with a handheld recorder against the grill of my matching Goldea 2x10 cab (Jensen 10/70's). Bedroom level recording. No reverb or other fx in front or in the loop. No pre/post prod. Just the dry track.

Lead channel settings:

Gain @ 3 0'clock
Treble @ 1 O'clock
Mids @ 3 O'clock
Bass @ 12 O'clock
Volume @ bedroom levels

It's a cheap ($150) amp (unloaded cab was $50) I bought from China.

I have been sick as a dog all week w Influenza B and wanted to wait until I was sane before giving this a listen. Will get to it today!

That is a fine foundational tone for metal.

Same here actually..flu of some sort. Glad you're over it. Mine flattened me for over a week :( Really ****ty.. but it seems to have passed, so I can hopefully get back to jamming on stuff now. Just picked up a new cheap Chinese handheld sound recorder that I have'nt had a chance to put to the test haa...I'll be giving that a go :D

Thanks..I think so too!

...really love the tone of this little amp. It spews out classic/80's metal awesomeness all day long with the gain at 1-3 o'clock...
