Ive added two tracks at my My Space Site

- http://myspace.com/mrdsbigband - .

4wayBlues; note - it s been removed and replaced.

If your interested in some Vulture Sqawk;check it the above URL.:kabong:

The recording are being made to test out my setup[Since i moved to where i am now ,a couple of years ago;I haven,t really used my system much] and a few amp mods[upgraded my valve sockets from plastic to china types,new caps in power supply].

I,ve used a backing track with a jazz flavour. A DI solo line on one take and an amped up solo line on another.

Miked up amp;

Vintage Oz amp i reco,d;that runs a pair of KT88,s-rated at 80 Watts output,with a Seymour Duncan 400 Watt Stereo Quad Box.

Analog stereo delay into each of the two channels in ,on the amp.

A Jen Crybaby that i modded to a Vol/Wah from a link i found here.

A TC Compressor/Sustain/parametric EQ

An Ephipone Les Paul with pole magnets i fitted into the Ephi coils
The neck pickup is running single coil-Bridge pickup Dual coil.

The microphone is an AKG C1000s condenser.

On board echo added in the mix- EQ,d after initial recording flat.

Recorded and mixed with Cool Edit Pro and Sound Forge8 ;and the help of my AardvarkQ10.

At 48Khz.

And The Amp Was cranked UP!!!:kabong:

Re: GoldenVultureNoise

To any one interested

There are two takes done to a jazz orientated backing line.One with a DI Solo guitar line and the other with Amp and Mic lines [Rythym and Solo] The Amped up version has been remixed and reloaded as of 2-2-08.

My playing is a bit rough still.A bit more practice and some of this[making recordings] will help get me back to better playing.

Re: GoldenVultureNoise

Thank you, Rid/Niels;
I like your style and listening to you is very inspiring.
I haven,t done a lot of playing in the last 10>15 years,and i m just getting back into it.I need to practice more.I found and downloaded a variation of backing tracks of various styles. [such as the UpTempo thing] The discipline of recording forces one to practice , to be tight.It s already working.

Query? ....Jamming? do you mean online ? Has that been done here, or in conjunction with people here?

And....Uptempo-The Amped up version has been remixed and reloaded[2-2-08]It is clearer and more balanced now.Seems to make the solo line work better now.

Re: GoldenVultureNoise

I like the tones!! Especially the clean one on "UpTempoJazzDI", nice one!

The timing is a problem and I got also timing problems, so..warm up before recording and do some notes/scales in tempo and practise it.

I like your phrasing, just stick to an idea and work on it and you don't to play fast all the time (but that's what I try to do too nowadays (again)) :D

This room is quite empty, don't consider your material as bad if no one replies.

Re: GoldenVultureNoise

Thanks for the comment; I have a tendency to overplay when i,m out of practice or unfamiliar with some thing.I really need to do a consistent amount of regular playing at the moment,That sound on the DI version is inspired by"Lee Ritenour" if you ve heard of him.Also a few of the other jazz rock guitarists.
