some q's...

1) From the clips on Fulltone's site it sounds like an asskickin' overdrive pedal... how is it as a stand-alone distortion pedal? I've heard it can produce a lot of gain but I've not heard clips of it like that.

2) How long can i expect to be on the waiting list if I order one from Guitar Center?

Man $180... this thing better really smoke!

I guess it depends on how much gain/distortion your after. I have an OCD and I've not seen any reason to push the gain past the 3:00 position. If your after thrashing metal tones, this may not be the pedal for you, but if your looking for a more musicial
gain/distortion the OCD is probably more along those lines. I think the thing to do is just experiment with the OCD and your rig. There's all kinds of tones in the OCD just waiting to be tweaked out. Honestly, I've never been happier with a pedal.

I know nothing about how long it'll take to get one from GC. I bought mine from Musictoz.com. They seem to get batches in every other week or so. Right now, I believe the waiting list with them is around a month. Good luck. It's a very cool pedal. And if you don't like if for some reason, you'll be able to get your money back and then some if you sell it on eBay.

I'd like to try one out myself. From the sound clips that I've heard it seems to have the right "flavor" of OD that I'm looking for. But sometimes the sound clips can be misleading. Hey Shnook, I'm assuming that this is more of an OD pedal, correct? If so how are the mids and bass? Every OD pedal that I've bought have two things in common: that annoying mid hump and a lack of bass. How is it with the OCD?

I haven't played mine enough to review it, but my first impression is that it's more of a clean boost/ OD type pedal than an OD/ distortion pedal. While there is gobs of gain available, I think the strength of this pedal lies in expanding on the fundamental tone of the amp in an organic, dynamic way, without adding a lot of its own coloration, more along the lines of the Klon Centaur or Maxon OD 820.

Hey, are you implying that metal guys can't have good, musical tone?! :evil:

J/K ... actually, I use my Fulltone as part of my gain setup, not as a solo boost, and it adds a rich, harmonic complexity that's not possible without a stacked gain stage. When put in front of a high gain amp, but with the actual gain set to about 1/2, you get a monstrous old school distortion sound out of it!! Fer a solo boost I use a Fat Boost. Works like a charm!

Well I suppose if I don't like it i can always return it. I'm not going for thrashing metal tones.... but I am going for high gain. My plan is to basically use this thing to goose the amp when it's in crunch mode and get it singing!

$380... jeebus! This reminds me of car dealerships selling the hot new model with a price overhead on it.

To be honest, the OCD has become the base of my tone right now. I'm not stepping on it for a lead boost. It's on all the time. It just sounds soooooo good. Like a sweet organic amp with rich dynamics and openess. It doesn't 'sound like a pedal' to me. So I really can't say whether or not it has much of an annoying mid hump or bass issues. I've not noticed anything that I don't like about this pedal. Well, except that I only have one of them at the moment. I'll fix that soon enough.

Well if the pedal is as good as everyone here and GP mag says it is then it should suit me perfectly.

I'm gonna order it on Friday... we'll see what happens!
