im looking for a good replacement bridge pickup for my ibanez 7-string. any suggestions as to what would be the best choice for a hard thrash/metal tone? thx in advance for any help.

I think a distortion would be the right pickup for your taste.
I also would suggest the JB and Custom for more versatility. If you want a fatter and agressive, brutal tone, maybe the Invader.
But in my ears it's too muddy for a 7-string.

yeah, I definatly dont want a muddy tone. the Distortion maintains pretty good clarity with lots of gain though??

Maybe if want to check out my thread....
i guess a distortion parallel axis trembuckeri n the bridge and a full shred in the neck will give you an unholy tone for death/thrash/hrad rock stuff man.
i play black/death/thrash some fusion metal too.
HAILS.

Dude, they still don't make a parallel axis OR full shred for 7 :laugh2:

However, if one had approx $280 to drop on a set of Custom Shop pups, this set would f*ck some sh*t up :saeek:

Hmm, not shure. The Distortion has an agressive sound, and surprisingly good cleans. But its not warm in my opinion.
Then mabye a Custom or JB.
