Good bass head?

I'll be in the market for a fair watted amp head in the coming months (man a paying job rocks )


I don't really know anything about bass amps. It'll be used for a punkish/hardcore-ish/metalish sound. Cort Curbow bass (if I'm still the buyer, Slade ) with an Earcandy Bassbomb 300w cab is what it'll be used with. I dunno what else I need to tell you.

Ampeg's SVT range should have something suitable! Ampeg make all sorst of industy standard bass stuff, something like the SVT-2PRO 300 watts.

I dunno how much you have to spend but ampeg caters for most budgets.

Try some of the Harkte stuff, especially their Solidstate/tube blend head.

If you're looking at gigging with it, don't go less than 300w SS. Picking up a used GK 800 would probably be your best bet- they're all over the place and they're inexpensive because they're all over the place.

i love the Genz-Benz stuff...they have a GBE-400 and 600 that would suit your needs pretty good!

ampeg svt 3 pro is a sweet midrange amp...it has a tube preamp and ss power amp. Usually can find them for $500 or less used.
