good beginner songs??

So you know any good songs for a beginner? I'm not so much into playing big chords and stuff, and I have a DVD for that kind of stuff, but I'm thinking more like playing songs with alot of single notes, if you understand what I mean. I'm mostly into rock/metal stuff, so I don't mind if there's some power chords mixed with alot of single notes etc. I play en electric guitar, and I'm doing all the crhomatic stuff etc. everyday, I wouldn't mind some songs with hammer on's and pull off's either, since I need that practiced badly.

Thanks.

Hmm, that's Van Halen, are you sure it's not too difficult for a beginner ??

Re: good beginner songs??

Nah, that's one of their easier ones. The solo might be a little difficult at first, but you could get it down really quick with some practice.

You might have to listen to the song a couple of times to get the rhythm correct, but all in all, its one of the easiest VH songs to learn.

Just remember if its not hard for you to learn then your not really learning anything.

Yeah, you're right man, I'll try it one of these days. Damn school takes alot of my time.

If you need any help with that song, just PM me and I'll see if I can help you with it ... that's about the only VH song I can completely play :D

Yeah, I will then, but I don't know when I'll get started (the time problem), since I also do like chromatic scales and stuff every day, to get faster, maybe sometime soon, or else the weekend.

Songs like "Heartbreaker", "Whole Lotta Love", "Black Dog", "Rock & Roll" and "Moby D!ick" by Led Zeppelin are great songs to learn how to riff. They all have resonably easy solos to learn, too. Also, a great excercise is to go through a Black Sabbath album (first five) and learn every riff by ear. Sabbath and Zep basically formed the foundation for hard rock/metal and by learning those you'll be a step up when you tackle newer rock/metal.

aint talkin bout love took me a week to master, u can do it easily, i did back in black, little harder, but it teaches you alot, hells bells is a good one, pretty much any AC/DC song with a solid rythym

Black sabbath. Songs like Paranoid, Iron Man and Snowblind are quite easy. Oh and Electric funeral is too.
