Good Fender tubie haed for a Marshall 1960a?

Any ideas for a sound with lots of bottom end but good clarity and warmth?

I wondered about one of the Bassmans since Marshalls are sorta-offshoots of them.

Bassman is a great head.
So is a Rivera Knucklehead

How much money do you want to spend and how much power do you need?

For not a lot of money with reasonable giggin volume, the 71 SF Bassman heads are great. They still come with BF circuits (mine does) and can be had for under $400.

Bassman Heads are really very good, and as Benjy said they can be purchased very reasonable. If you need a lot more volume and are looking to play very clean, and loud consider the Dual Showman Reverb. This is essentially a twin in a head configuration. In the early 70's they could be coupled with a varity of cabinets. Clapton used this head with Derek & the Dominos Live tour. Be aware that this is a very loud, very clean head. If I remeber coreectly they were made in 100 & 130 watts version depending on the year. Good Luck!

You can pick up 90's Prosonic heads for around $600. Those sound great on a 4-12, and also have 2 channels and switchable tube/diode rectifiers. They're starting to become classics, since they discontinued them, and people always liked them.
