Those epi's are awesome (casino's, wildkats, LP '56 goldtop) there great sounding guitars. action is a little bad but thats such a small issue.

seems like there is a stigma attached. its perfectly fine to have a set-neck strat and tele but a bolt-on lp-type guitar is a no-no.
i am speculating that there's a consensus at the back of our heads that set-neck is far more superior to bolt-on, it enhances sustain, tone and upper fret access as compared to a bolt-on. hence its considered an improvement to have a set-neck joint on a normally bolt-on type of guitar. but not the other way around.
