Capsule reviews for the attention-challenged.....
MXR Phase 90: Too much break-up with hot signal.
MXR Phase 100: Nice, swirly, versatile. Ugly. Recommended.
MXR EVH Phase 90: Handles hot signal, sounds like a wah.
Maxon PH350: Fabulous. Expensive.
Maxon PT-9Pro+: Weak, lame, not worth the money.
Maxon PT999: Dark and swirly, eats treble.
Ibanez PT9 (Vintage): Nice 8-stage phaser, can be tweaked. Recommended.
Ibanez BPL: Thin sounding, can't be tweaked enough.
Guyatone PH3: Sweep is too asymmetrical, but has a decent depth.
Boss PH-3: Digital sounding joke, kills your tone. Step is neat, though.
Boss PH-2: Wide, odd sounding phaser, kinda cool. Offers 12-step.
Boss PH-1r: Too sharp sounding for my tastes.
Digitech Hyper Phase: See Boss Ph-3.
EHX Small Stone: Good generic sound, reliability sucks.
Cheers,
M.
