GoPro sticker on a guitar

Is it safe to put one of those GoPro sticky mounts on the finish of a guitar ?
Has anyone had any bad experiences trying to remove it ?

Depends on the guitar's finish. I wouldn't be inclined to put one on a lacquer finish, but should be fine on poly.

Agree. I wouldn't put it on any of the guitars in your signature, but most "regular" guitar finishes should be fine.

Put some painter's tape on the guitar and put the mount on over the tape?

I found a few youtube videos for reviews, but no one mentioned removing the sticky base. I am going to take your advise and err on the side of caution. I ordered a clamp type with rubber pads.

I learned how to play "Fly By Night" back in '85. I forgot how to play it and decided to watch some youtube videos to jog my memory. After 24 videos (of 24 different versions) I decided to relearn it on my own - note for note. I plan to make my first vid playing "Fly By Night" and posting it. I just picked up a phaser and will probably use my 339, although my Midnight Manhattan Standard sounds pretty close to the recording also.
