Got Bored And Picked Up an Inexpensive Body...

Looks like lacewood.

Yep; Lacewood Cap on 1 Piece Alder Body. Not perfect and older Gluff Body; it's had some prior owner modifications done. I though with some addl oiling and a nitro spray of a few coats it would be a nice looking beater since I had everything else laying around collecting dust.

Wait, what happened to the cool tele body that had that neck on it? I thought that thing was done ages ago and a complete guitar?

Almost. Wound up selling it. I wanted dual Humbuckers and the Floyd route was too small to allow the Big Block enough travel.

Thanks. Thinking about taping off the top/cap and spraying the back with Buterscotch Blonde Nitro then Nitro Clear Glossing it all.

Got some Clear Gloss on the Top. It's interesting; kind of Scalloped like the tops on the Gibson BFG Guitars.

That's a really nice looking guitar, but ....

every time I see the thread title, I think it's a thread started by a different author, and is going to feature a quality plywood body with only minimal cracks running the length of it.
