Got my BLACKOUTS Today

Re: Got my BLACKOUTS Today

So which is which? The bridge is the equivalent the EMG? and the neck?

I'm curious to see where the sales of these take this lineup. If they are as good as they're supposed to be then maybe we'll see a blackout version of the 60A which is my fav. neck hum from EMG.

The 60A Bridge Hum is my Fav EMG ,and i can't think of SD is going to make active mini Hums with alnico magnet in a standart housing ,since nobody is buying the 60A.It's even impossible to get one in Europe!
But i would be one of the first one to buy a 7 string version of a 60A style Blackout!

Re: Got my BLACKOUTS Today

So, this might have been asked and answered already, but can I just do a direct swapout between an EMG85 and a Blackout Neck pickup (ie, do the blackouts have the quick-connect things on them)? If so, I'll definitely be trying one out since it'll only take like 10 minutes to pop it in there.

Also, if the blackouts go well, is Duncan going to try to come out with some single coil pickups modelled after the EMG's (or as alternatives)? I can't think of anything out there right now that's a direct swapout for an EMG singlecoil without having to rewire the guitar.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm hoping Duncan does a blackout version of the 60A hum and SA single. I don't really see the lineup spreading out to far though since they already have quite a lineup and even the 2 I mentioned are not as used widely by EMG users.

The 60A is the best EMG humbucker-period.!And it's the best active after Shadow EQ5!

Well you and I agree on this. It's not near as widely used as the 81/81 or 81/85 combo. Alot of EMG users haven't even heard of the 60A. I like it in the neck but it's a mean bridge pickup to.

The clarity and chunk is "right on spot"...
You may try a Shadow EQ5 dude...it's a cool thing if you like actives!

Re: Got my BLACKOUTS Today

you people can never be happy can you?

BTW, what's the big deal with actives anyway? I've personally never been turned on to them. Anyone care to explain the attratcion?

Who said anything about being unhappy? I really don't care if Duncan expands the blackout line or not. I prefer to have my pickups match in the same guitar but if they don't do a 60A blackout, then I'll just use a 60A. They all work on the same circuit.

Calm down, this to will pass.
