Now the installing i cud eather do them locally for like 100$.... or i cud do them myself but i dont kno if doing them myself would be a good idea.... you guys got any idea? i read the instruactions it sounds relativly easy...

Re: Got My Emgs

Do not pay 100 bucks to get them installed, that's way too much. I'd pay more like 30 or 35 for 2 pickups, but I do it myself. You should really learn to solder stuff on a cheapie axe or parts.

Re: Got My Emgs

dood im 14 and i only have one guitar so i cant really practise on my axe.... and its 100 Candian so it would be like70-80 us... but still thats alot
i also dont trust myself putting stuff together heh... bad experiance

Its 70-80 for both pickups to get installed if i didnt make that clear..

Re: Got My Emgs

I'm 16 did my first job when I was 15, but those cloth-braid (single coil) wires are so nice and easy to install. But I have to admit, I never did a successfull job w/ 4-conductor humbucker, wires suck! those plastic pieces of junk. so I'm 0-2 w humbuckers, but 6-6 w/single coils. weird huh.

Re: Got My Emgs

soldering isn't as hard as you think

i tried it for the first time last year, i didn't mess up either. once you learn how to do it, you'll never forget

Re: Got My Emgs

Hey bro, putting in those EMG's is a snap, just follow the wiring diagram that came with the pickup! I have installed many pickups for me and my friends, and the one piece of advice is, make sure all of your solders are clean. Tug on the wires a bit after you make your solders to make sure everything is tightly soldered down. Man... too bad you dont live close to me, I'd install them for next to nothing for you. Good luck!
