Got my Falbo Alpha Series Hollowbody

Re: Got my Falbo Alpha Series Hollowbody

SCHWING.

It doesn't resist much analysis, does it?
What a wonderful looking thing.

Re: Got my Falbo Alpha Series Hollowbody

That is absolutely gorgeous!!!

There are a few extremely talented builders on this forum. Frank is one of them. His acoustics are also superb.

Not to put in a plug for him, but we have an Aussie forumite who makes amazing guitars.

I'm also interested in the cost of that guitar.

Re: Got my Falbo Alpha Series Hollowbody

Think you'll see it differently then?
Haha what if after he gets Lasik he thinks it looks terrible?

I'd like to take a second and thank all of you for the kind words, you have no idea what they mean to me after starting this company a few years back, and all of the work involved to get a Hollowbody like this off the ground. For those who asked, hollowbodies are between $3500-4000 depending on the wood and finish choices, and the string slots are making use of the Intension design, using the string energy to drive the top with inverted torque tied to the string tension.

Frank, thanks for that info. That's a very decent price for that guitar...a couple thousand less than a Gibson custom 335, but ten times the quality and features. I'd say that's a great value!

The only other guitar I've played that had the vibe, mojo, tone, and overall ease of playability of Frank's guitar was a '68 ES355, and that guitar was $15k.

Re: Got my Falbo Alpha Series Hollowbody

I keep coming back to this thread to look at the pictures. What is the bridge set into if this is hollow? Does the smaller hollow body make it neck heavy?

Frank builds some kind of block. It's the same technology he uses in the acoustic guitars.

It's not neck heavy. Part of that seems to be because of the body shape, the bass cutaway offset, and where all the body contours are....I think?

Luke Duke or anyone have a sound clip of that guitar or one like it? Would hate it to be just another pretty face.

There's a hyperlink to a Dan Boul show clip in the last paragraph of my first post. "Here". I think the guitar was on the show twice? Frank?

Re: Got my Falbo Alpha Series Hollowbody

Beautiful!! Not only is Frank a brilliant guitar maker, he's also (as I'm sure many Forum bros can attest) a hell of a nice guy...congrats to Luke and Frank!! :)
