Nice color and the flame looks more true to a 59 than most of the "monstertop" type Les Pauls. I'm glad Gibson has started to leave the pickguard off, but include it with the guitar. It's nice to have the choice of installing the guard, or not, without the holes already being present. Nice aquisition. Guys can talk all they want about
Gibson Vs. Anything else. If you have a nice Paul like yours, you can put it up next to any other humbucking guitar and do the test yourself. Gibsons always win.

Thanks guys, yeah im definitely fixing the amp up before i think about new pickups.

The amp has actually arrived but they've slapped a GST on it which i have to pay before i can take the amp...of course. But its here so thats a good thing

Lovely guitar mate. Looks gorgeous - heaps nicer than my 1997 tobacco sunburst - that is one ugly guitar (if a Les Paul can ever be ugly, I guess). PLain top, double black AP2's...it looks identical to the Slash signiture - but it was just so resonant and played so well I had to get it...

..after looking at yours I wish sometimes I'd gone for something a little prettier!!!

Oh well - my white Custom fills that role I guess...

BTW - use www.photobucket.com for hosting your pictures, its free and will automatically crop your pictures to fit in the album. You can then just use the IMG link and paste directly to your thread - and we can drool over pics!!

I wouldn't change the pickups! I just got done a big jam with my LP Standard with BB Pros and man do they kill. i was getting beautifull clean to some of the warmest and heaviest tones I've had.

I definitely agree with the clean tones, ive been getting some of the warmest jazzy tones out of it plus some great feeling blues tones. And ive also got some good heavy tones out of it through my ENGL which has been great, but theres still something about the JB in my jackson which i love for heavy stuff better than the BBpros.

Having said that though it'll be a while before i change them if i do, im gonna concentrate on playing a bit more for a while...sometimes i think we let gear get in the way of that which is a bad bad thing....chris isaac style :smoker:
