Got my MIJ strat...

im actually really impressed by the stock pups, they might have to stay in there...

from what i've played of MIA fenders, this comes equal, at least. the neck feels a bit fatter than my MIM strat, but i saw 'japanese fender' on the ebay description and won it for £255... i didnt know it was CIJ

maple fretboard, sunburst body (i think it's alder), single ply plate... still deciding whether to drop the antiquities in this one or the MIM...

ill get some photos up when im back from school though - as ebay steals go, this has to be a good one

I can't disagree with that.

That's a bit spooky, I have a friend who has a MIJ (not CIJ) Strat, Sunburst, Maple Board, Single Ply Guard that he was gonna put on eBay!

They are real nice guitars though, easy to play.

the action on this one is pretty high, but everything's perfectly in tune (or so my POS tuner tells me) so its staying that way

if your friend is still gonna ebay it, just make damned sure the bidders know its MIJ... the only reason i got it for 255 was it just said 'fender strat, bought in japan' and a photo of the front with bad light... perfect

For you and the guitar's sake, put the antiquities on the CIJ and you'll have one of the best, if not the best stratocaster you have ever played.

Congrats! All of my Strats except my Homebuilt and my '63 are MIJ Strats. I'm a big fan of MIJ Strats. I do always replace the Japanese pickups though. And the tremolo with a Fender USA '62 RI. The Japanese tremolos don't weigh as much as a vintage Strat tremolo...but they sound fine. The '62 RI sounds deeper though. Lew
