Re: Got my Pearly Gate Bridge.
I don't think my PG+ (8.75K) is too top heavy. Yes it is bright, it has uppermids, but its not brittle. Rolling the tone to 6-7 it gives Duaney's Fillmore tones very nicely because of its uppermid heavy scream.
Guys we are getting a 10K PAF with mismatched coils and aged a5. Wouldn't you think that it rather would sound like a PG+? That's my feeling, I expect it to be sounding a little stronger and darker than that PG+ of mine. I think I'll love that pickup.
I love them PG+'s and I think all that talk about them being somewhat icepicky, I think, ain't doing it justice. It simply has more uppermids than a hot 59b, or a hot antiquity bridge with an a5 magnet.
I am using 500K's with it, and it matched perfectly with a 8.10K PGb with an a3 magnet. I love them.
