Got the Classic 50!!! (cheesecake shots inside!)

I've had this thing on layaway for a month, just got it out today! Spent the past 2 hours playing it thru my Legacy cab and it sounds AWESOME!!

It's probably from between 1991-94 or so and there's a fan built into the amp to keep the Sovtek EL84 power tubes cool. The preamps are RCA 12AX7/7205s.

Sounds delicious!! A perfect complement to my Legacy. Just my kinda style, but it's a little sweeter and more vintage sounding. Most excellent! I still can't believe I got this thing for $350 out the door, it sounds like a much more expensive amp.

Those amps are such a good deal for how they sound. And personally, the head is my favorite version of it. You're lucky to have found one in such pristine condition. It'd look cool if you changed the jewel light to amber or green!

Ya gotta love those Peavey Classic series amps. Very underrated and some of the best bang for the buck working mans amps around. I love my Little C30.

I had a Classic 20 back in the day. The Classic line was one of the best deals on the market back when they came out. They got a little more pricey as time wore on, but still nice amps.

does it do high gain well??

it's not exactly a Heavy Metal amp but with my C50 head i find myself cutting the preamp gain way back when i get it cranked.... my other amp is a 5150.... The C50 is more of a "Classic" sounding Amp but still has plenty of distortion....
