Gr8Scott's new amp

Re: Gr8Scott's new amp

Roger that. I'll send the word to the family member whom shall receive it to keep his hands off until I get back in town. I'll take photos before/during opening etc myself. Thanks for being understanding on the whole shipping thing. Can't be here to get it, so alternate plans must be made to keep it safe and undrenched by rain. I do most of my playing there anyway and almost all my gear is there, so it will save me the trip.

Re: Gr8Scott's new amp

Just have him call you ASAP if the box looks dinged in any way...

My only true worries are another 6-10 foot drop like Armotrons took. I still haven't seen a dime from the fed ex insurance thing. Deny deny deny...

Re: Gr8Scott's new amp

I like the cabinet and all, but I gotta say that I find myself gawking at the circuits more than anything else.

It is a beautiful cabinet, but I would like to compliment your work, however, I can't see the inside, if you know what I mean.

I really hope this doesn't come off as an insult or anything.

Re: Gr8Scott's new amp

Again, don't misunderstand, I think that inside shots could be against one's best interests, just saying...

(maybe I shouldn't have posted :nervous: )

Nice, and neat. Nice work, I can truly say that and mean it (I feel like I would devalue my compliments without looking at examples).

why you trying to scare us? :)

I just love my fellow forum members, in a clean, teasing sense that is!

I just get really scared using Fed Ex and UPS DROP SHIPMENT methods.

Am I only worrying about those companies shipping and handling methods???

Glad you like it. It's kinda funny. I busted open the 2nd amp I ever made the other day and I was thinking.... hmm... I need to reroute that wiring here, I need to turn this into a star ground, etc.,.

As it is, I did tinker around a bit, got that sucka sounding even better.... :)

Dude, I put about $20 bucks of packing material into this sucker. I went to Lowes Home Improvement and bought sheets of styrofoam, then bought some polystyrene thin sheets, plus some small bubble bubble wrap. Got an extra box, so I've got the amp first.... insides are loaded with tubes and power chord, then alll the blank spaces filled with packing material. Then the head is wrapped in multiple layers of 1/4 inch polystyrene wrap, then put into a box with a 1/2 inch of styrofoam sheeting and other stuffing inside. Box taped and wrapped, THEN...

put inside another box. The space between the two boxes filled with sheets of styrofoam. If it gets dinged, it'll be a gravitational induced Ding and the box will look just fine.

It will survive.
