I’ve seen Andy Wood using a Blue Chip (?) pick on mandolin. They make some for guitar as well. The price is somewhere around $50 for one! Supposedly they don’t wear out or something like that.
I’ve heard of the stone picks you mentioned too but haven’t tried one. They are both in my list.
