Gravity Picks

Re: Gravity Picks

I have a few Gravity picks, a Classic Mini (Jazz III size) a 1.1mm standard Classic, a clear one of some kind (which I lost, imagine that), and a couple of 1.5mm Big Mini Sunrises which I paid for, I think the classics were samples or something. I really like the Sunrises, but I have trouble spending $5 on a pick that will probably get left somewhere, but they do feel good, sound good, and have a nice attack, maybe if I can chain it to my finger?

Re: Gravity Picks

Alot of peeps mention not wanting to pay $5 for a pick. Im normally in that boat too. One thing with the gravity and vpicks, it appears to me that they wont wear out very fast. So, unless you are prone to losing picks, the cost may be justified.
**** Im speculating tho. I have several Gravity and V picks and havent played with them an excessive amount of time, so I cant say for sure how long they will last, but looks to me as though they will last longer than normal picks.

Gravity Picks

I have no problem with a $5 pick for around the house. But I can’t justify buying enough of a stash to gig with them.
You lose them, drop them, give them to people etc....

Re: Gravity Picks

Recently went back to the trying the Tortex 1mm and love it.

I used the Tortex for years. I still do occasionally. I like the way they slide through the strings and feel in my hands. I guess my only complaint, if I had to would be that they tend to wear fairly quick.

Re: Gravity Picks

That’s why they sell 72-packs. Stock up and rock out! :headbang:

Re: Gravity Picks

I’m now using Dunlop exclusively but in various varieties, Jazz III XLs (Stiffo, Regular, Primetone and Ultex.), Tortex (0.5,0.66 and 1.0 mm.), Dunlop AJ Flow Picks and most recently the Jim Root Jazz III XL and Tortex hybrid.
I’ve dabbled with Gravity, Stone and Dragons Heart Picks and always come back to Dunlop due to the better feel and greater value but I’ll admit the Gravities sound great.

I’m a fan of the Dunlop’s and Clayton’s. I’ve also dabbled with other picks but always come back to those as well.

If it ain’t broke....

Zombie thread. Now that Brossard is out of business I have been looking for a replacement for my picks. I had a couple of Gravity picks and love the way they feel and float across the strings. I bought a few more to go into the Altoid box.

I have a couple of gravity pics. Similar to the amber ones in your pic but mine are the green ones. They are great picks but for me, at what $5 a pick they aren’t really practical if I’m gigging. For at home use they are great though.

My picks come out of the Altoids tin and go back in when I am done playing, so I don't plan to lose them. They last forever so for me they are worth the investment.

Not going to lie, these Dunlop Primetone sound and feel the best of ALL the picks Ive tried, the durex material has a little more attack than Tortex (which is my got to in the past)

They are expensive, I pre-apologize for bringing these into your life.

How durable are they compared to the Tortex? I have some .73mm Tortex in guitar cases that I got back in the 80's.
