Ground Loop Hum......

I'm currently using a Godlyke Powerall on my board.

When I power the effects that're out front and the effects that're in the loop, I get a bad ground loop going on, and it's getting on my nerves.

Now, the easy (and costly) solution is to get a Pedal Power 2, but I was wondering if there was a cheaper way of removing the ground loop?

Would running two Godlykes work? Or would they still form a loop?

Re: Ground Loop Hum......

Run the effects in front off one supply, and the ones in the effects loop from another. Don't put them all on the same supply.

What about buying a ground lift?

The best I can tell is that the ground loop is internal somewhere in the preamp (it's looping through the input and effects loop). I tried lifting all the grounds in various orders with no success, and the Godlyke doesn't have a ground, so I can't lift it.

Fretfire has it correct. The cheapest and safest combo is the get another Godlyke powersupply for the effects in the loop.

You're both probably correct, but I was irritated and impatient so I ordered a PP2 last night anyway.

Thanks for the help though.
