Hey guys
Ok, so I've built a tele type guitar with a strat type pup (Dimarzio) in the neck, tele (Seymour Duncan neck) in the middle, and Dimarzio humbucker in the bridge.
It all seems to be wired up ok but though I've wired guitars before successfully I'm really a novice that follows wiring diagrams without fully understanding what I'm doing... I guess I just follow the pictures and hope it works - it usually does!
So there's loads of background noise which I strongly suspect to a problem with grounding. Could someone explain what I'm trying to achieve with grounding? I've pretty much just wired all grounds to the bottom of the tone pot. Is this right, or does there need to be some kind of start and finish?
I realise this is all basic, step one stuff, but would really appreciate some input.
Cheers
James
