Grounding to Tremolo Question

Hey all,

Let me start by saying that I am about to embark on my first wiring project. I am going to desolder/dissassemble my brothers Mex-Strat (with his permission of course). I have read many hints on this site and others but, nontheless, I do have a battery of questions:smack:

The first is this:
I see that the ground on This MIM Fat-Strat is on a under a little hole (hill) in the piece that holds the springs and screws into the body.

Is this standard fare Strat tremolos, it definately looks like it was put there for the soul purpose of grounding. If the notch wasn't there, where could I ground?

Re: Grounding to Tremolo Question

Yes. This is how you act as a shield against hum when you put your hands on the strings. Leave it unattached and it is more safe (if you are a paranoid), but it will hum a significant amount more.
