HEy guys, i just picked up my takamine eg-240, and ive begun to think that it sucks. and it cost me $400! The tuners are terrible, the neck seems berry unbalanced and the frets are small and variable. The guitar rattles and just sounds weird. What SHOULD I DO?????????? :yell:

Re: Grrrr. Advice???

i forgot, its also made in INDONESIA, is this a bad thing compared to say korea? Should i see how much i could get for it?

like to play it... i bought it 2 years ago.

aight, I thought maybe you just bought it.
Well, I'd start with a truss rod adjustment, seems necessary, get some Big Bends Nut Sauce & lube every point of friction. If you still have problems with keeping it in tune then tuners are the next step. Try the first then get back with us. Also it's winter time & if you're in a dry area, humidity or lack of I should say can wreak havoc with acoustics. I've got a humidifier for my house, the family likes it & so do my guitars. Good luck.

Peace,

Darrin

BTW, the good news is you have a new strat comin' buddy.

Re: Grrrr. Advice???

Thanks for the help Darrin, you always have been great at that. ive determined tis not the winter thing, considering im in Florida, yay!!! I think im just hating this thing more and more cuz my electrics string broke, no replacements :smack: And i cant do what i usually do on this accoustic.
And yes, i cannot wait for my strat!!!!

Hey Alex,

What strings do you need for your electric? I got some extras lying around & I'd be happy to drop'em in the mail on Monday. Just let me know, bro, no problemo.

Peace,

Darrin

Re: Grrrr. Advice???

I was gonna say, smash it into the wall. The hole in the wall will take your mind off the guitar. :13:

Taks are pretty decent guitars. Experiment with the setep. It might be a good guitar to learn about set-ups on.

Re: Grrrr. Advice???

Oil the fingerboard with lemon oil, clean it up, and adjust the action and trussrod. As far as tuners go, are they slipping?

Re: Grrrr. Advice???

Well the tuners are very weak, and they seems to slip some also on the high e, ill just work on the guitar some.
