Guess what I bought!!!

A Mesa/Boogie .50 Caliber +. 50 watts all tube, 2 6l6s, 4 12ax7s, and a 12au7 driving the accutronics spring reverb. What an amazing amp. I traded an Ampeg BA210sp and some ****ty Kustom practice amp for it straight up from Bill's Music in Catonsville, MD. All around just a great sounding amp. 1-12 inch black shadow speaker. Its not a metal amp like the Mark series but it can if i want it to...but I don't. I love this amp!!!!

Never played the "+" model but liked the 50 cal and 22 cal's I've played through. I believe this was the grandad of the current F-series amps (?)

Yes it is the start of the f-series and was supposed to be a cheaper mark series. But I don't like the mark series, way too metal, all the kids turn the mids off, set the 5 band to a giant v and turn the gain to 10...its lame. Its a phenomenal amp though, anyone ever use one?

hey i had a 50 cal amp for a while, traded it in to get the tri axis. Its cleans were great and the distortion was smooth and bluesy. it was a pretty cool little amp and it was realy laud.

Sounds like a user problem then...not the amp itself ....kinda like the Recto is capable of a wide variety of really good tones...but all the "kids" scoop the mids and crank the bass and gain, and ruin it for everyone else who knows what they are doing :laugh2: :burnout:

nice, ive always wanted to try a 50 cal. pepper keenan from corrosion of conformity has used one for a real long time with a tubescreamer in front of it and it sounds amazing
