Guitar amp software recommendation

I saw these guys and got to check out their products for the first time at NAMM last year, and again this year:

They've really expanded the features on the guitar amp sim (the PRO version), and it sounds terrific. It's kind of a cliché to say this, but the amp models respond and feel like like a real tube amp - the more you dig in, the more crunchy (in a really good way) it gets, and if you ease up on the picking or turn your volume down, the sound cleans up nicely. And they've added a bunch of dedicated effects that sound killer. I've tried most of the amp sim software, and to me this is right at the top with the best that's currently out there. I sat and played around with it at their booth for a long time, which is a sure sign to me that I like a product - if I can get lost in it and really enjoy playing with it for a while, it's a winner (I have been known when trying out some guitars/amps/effects to pick up the guitar, play a chord or two, set it down and walk away quickly).

They've got a free version on the website with one amp model, and I think a full demo version. The programmer told me the PRO version (which I would totally recommend over the basic) isn't RTAS compatible yet, but will be soon (I use VST, so no biggie for me). Also, I think they have a stand-alone version coming soon.

I'm not affiliated with the company at all, they're just really nice guys with a small independent company making great products at a very reasonable price, and I want to give 'em a boost!

hate to say it, but we just talked about how not good it is in the tips and clips section.

Have you guys actually tried Studio Devil, or are you going on word of mouth? I find it to be really responsive and expressive. I like and use AmpliTube and Pod Farm as well, and find that most amp sims have their strengths and weaknesses.

I did a shootout awhile back; nothing major, just recorded a direct clean guitar and reamped using a few different things, as well as a pedal sim and an external cab sim outta the amp. the studio devil (demo) just didn't sound that great. by itself, it's not bad. up against other stuff, I've found it seems to fall short. maybe the pro one is better, maybe I didn't set things right, I dunno. I was sort of going for a rather high gain setting - maybe it excels at low/medium gain stuff.

I've used the Studio Devil free amp sim and it is ok, for more chocies I like my Line 6 Pod Farm, or I hear Amplitude is pretty good.
