Guitar cables?

Re: Guitar cables?

I usually go for Neutrik plugs and Klotz La Grange cable.

However, I currently have in my possession a Pete Cornish cable (£53 or about $90) and a Vovox ($150 I think). I tried switching between them and the cheapo Piranha I had lying around and wasn't certain there was any sound difference, so I set up a little half-blind test where I recorded clips with each cable, then randomised the filenames and played them back. Turns out the Cornish has a touch more treble, the other two sound indistinguishable.

Just buying a capacitance meter might be the faster approach here.

If course you don't want any actual junk for reliability and shielding reason. But it will allow you to identify cables that damage your sound.

Re: Guitar cables?

what ever you do,DO NOT BUY THE G.C. CABLE NAMED LIVE WIRE.SEE MY REVIEW OF THIS CABLE ON THEIR WEB SITE..i bought a 20 foot, purple live wire sound hose cable, and its a piece of crap.the caps always unscrew, and the plastic jacket covering the cable is so stiff, that after about 10 minuits of practice time, that cable is a 10 foot pile of twists and knots.if you move around at all when you play, and most of us do,you will have this problem.they come with a life time replacement waranty, but like i said in the review, this thing is so bad i dont even want a free one.
