This is kind of amusing, in a way...
I sold this guitar to a guy on Craigslist, about two months ago. Happened to be browsing today, and well looky here! I owned and cherished that guitar for several years, until hand surgery turned its neck profile against me. Bought it in TERRIBLE condition used at a local GC, but when I picked it up, I knew it had potential. Replaced every bit of hardware, took out the EMGs and installed Duncans; 59 w/A4 mag in the neck, and Distortion in the bridge. It was really a nice guitar, especially for what I paid for it. Call it, a "Labor of Love". ;D
Anyway, after I sold it, the guy texted me back a few times, raving about how much he liked it, and I was glad it went to a happy home. So I was surprised to see it come up for sale again, so soon. What really bothers me, though, is that I think this guy is misrepresenting this guitar.
From what I could learn when I owned it, it is a 2003 Jackson SLSMG, made in Japan. The serial number is 031247, stamped into the neck at the 24th fret. He is claiming it to be a 1990, "Very mint, first year" Jackson Soloist. And it is in pretty good condition, but certainly not "mint." He is also claiming that it has stainless steel frets! I think that when I had it professionally fret-levelled a few years back, the luthier would've mentioned that, don't you think?
It almost makes me want to get a hold of this guy and call BS on his shady sale ad. But it also poses the larger question: if you were a potential buyer, how would you verify any of a seller's claims? It IS still a nice guitar, but I can't stand liars. Buyer beware!
