Guitar neck replacement

Re: Guitar neck replacement

need more info... what is the brand and model of guitar you have that needs a new neck? what scale length is the neck on the guitar?

Re: Guitar neck replacement

It's an old davson flying v that my brother got of ebay and as far a scale length I don't know

Re: Guitar neck replacement

measure the distance from the nut to the center of the 12th fret... and report what you find...

example- a measurement of 12 3/4 would mean it's a 25 1/2 fender scale..

Re: Guitar neck replacement

BUY NEITHER of those GF replacement necks.

The Davison Flying Vee is a copy of a Gibson onto which the neck is screwed rather than glued. Expect the scale length to be 24.75 inches.

Either buy another 24.75 inch scale neck or simply get the original Davison neck cleaned up and refitted.

Re: Guitar neck replacement

It looks like 12 and 3/4

Re: Guitar neck replacement

just messure from the nut to where the string leaves the bridge. i would guess its 24.75 inches (gibson scale) theres no point getting a new neck just to have a maple board. use fine wire wool on the back to make it smoother. if you really want a new neck you can buy gibson scale bolt-on necks, might be hard to find one with a maple fretboard though
