Guitar or bass with GREAT stock pups

Re: Guitar or bass with GREAT stock pups

+1 for the G&L's. I haven't heard a bad one yet. Anything that comes stock with Duncans has sounded good to me too.

Re: Guitar or bass with GREAT stock pups

I am completely satisfied with the stock Dimarzio Designed pups in my Parker Nitefly. Great single-coil sound. Lots of tonal variation.

On the other end of this question, I have NEVER played a modern Strat that I would keep the stock pups. The 3 pups tend to sound like clones of each other. No significant tonal differences. Kinda defeats the purpose of having 3 pups.

BTW, I would love to test drive a Fly Mojo--just haven't had an opportunity. There are very few Parker dealers in La., and they don't stock much.

The PuP in my G&L L1000 bass is Killer !! If I found another one, I'd be torn
between putting it in the neck of the G&L or my J-Bass. :smack:

My early-mid 80's Peavey Patriot is going back to stock soon. As much as I like the Stag Mags, they'll be going into a Strat. The Peavey "Super-Ferrites" had a very distinctive sound. The humbucker-sized, single-coils, with a "rail" pole-piece. Very unusual.
