Guitar shop adventures

I test drove an Ibanez Talman Inter City e/acoustic Saturday. Impressive little instrument. Especially for under $400. Great action, playability, good sound, simple electronics, interesting finish. Two thumbs up.

I didn't have time to play them, but a local shop started carrying Stagg guitars. Imports from China. I was really drooling over a cherry sunburst LP copy. BEAUTIFUL finish (and flawless, unlike that other company...) The guitar geek in the shop said they play well and actually sound good. I'm thinking this might be a good graduation gift for my baby boy...if I can part with it after playing it. I'm thinking an electronics upgrade with pickups from a reputable company...any names come to mind? :smack: :burnout:

Oh yeah: They'll sell me one for $250 :saeek:

I gotta get back there to test drive one, though.

Re: Guitar shop adventures

Those stagg guitars are AWFUL. A friend of mine bought one and he cut his hand on the frets. It's not worth the cost of new pickups or even buying at that price. Maybe $150.

Re: Guitar shop adventures

Thanks. But maybe their like the early Squiers; maybe if you play enough of them you'll find a good one. Anyway, it's just random thoughts. Agile guitars are tempting as well.

Then again, that ESP of yours...ooo.
