Oh mother of the lord!! there are some good ones!!! What part of the Atl are you coming to? We have 3 GCs (bleh) and several nice boutique shops. Plus Christians house is pretty much like a music store LOL!!!

EDIT: Duh... I just saw that you ALREADy said you'll be downtown. Links coming....

http://www.midtownmusic.com/ <-- this place is tops!!! GC is just up the street from here too.

http://www.atlantadiscountmusic.com/ <-- Might be a touch out of your way, but maybe not. 20-25 minutes from downtown.

http://www.maplestreetguitars.com/ <-- THE boutique acoustic shop in Atlanta. Be sure to check out the Barukes!! I have one. The builder is a personal friend of mine!!

Am I missing a few Christian, Alvin, etc etc?????

The places that B Bent and boonhogganbeck named are all good places...I love to go to Midtown Music as the staff are great and the owner and I have been doing business for years now...Boutique Guitar Exchange is great but it is ALL high end...only go if you want MAD GAS! Also, if you want to look at some killer vintage stuff see if you can catch Atlanta Vintage Guitars open and drop in...tell Frank Christian sent you! I also like Atlanta Discount but cool stuff can be hit or miss...that said you should go just to look at some of the killer amps they usally have! Be sure to try a Goodsell!

Anyway, those are my 4 fav spots...when are you gonna be here...maybe we can meet up?!

Thanks for the advice!
i'll be in Atlanta from the 14th to the 19th. My hotel is near the airport, but i'm working at Georgia Tech.
I would love to meet up, but unfortunately, i'm not even sure *IF* i'll have lots spare time to go around. i'll most likely be working on the weekend too :crying:

Anyway, I'll PM you my cell # when i'm there, and hopefully we can find a mutually convenient time we can meet up :bigthumb:

Are there any interesting pawn shops where i can find cool old effects/pedals?

Ken Stanton Music in Marietta (20 miles north of Atlanta proper) and Roswell (a little farther north). They have some real good deals on Gibsons and they are not man-handled like they are in Guitar Center.

They have pretty good prices on all their inventory.
