guitar similar to a PV wolfgang standard

Thinking about selling my PV wolfgang standard. I love the features and sound on the guitar, but don't like the way it plays. Guitar doesn't seem to sit right and neck seems to be to narrow (nut width) for my liking. Is there another guitar out there that has similar features and sound? Any thoughts?

Re: guitar similar to a PV wolfgang standard

Ernie Ball still makes the axis
And the Sterling versions

Has you tried the Peavey HP Special
Which is also similar

Yeah, that basically is the same thing as far a how it hangs while playing and neck size/shape. I was thinking if there is something in a strat type body, fender neck or similar, and a locking floyd rose. Looking for similar sound, but different how it hangs and the neck.

Fender makes a blacktop version
With a Floyd
Maybe some new pickups and you're good

The D'Avanzo guitar looks great, but it is out of my budget. I did some more checking and seen a Schecter Banshee also. The one I seen on the tag had that is said a SD JB pickup in the bridge, but on the Schecter website it states a SD nazgul. How would a SD JB compare to a SD nazgul? How would they compare to the charvel with a dimarzio tone zone or SD distortion? Which would you think would be a better guitar the Schecter or the Chavel So-Cal(non-USA). Which would sound more like the Peavey Wolfgang?

i love those Charvel Pro Mods... own one myself.... as great as they are the neck is not 100% the perfect shape for me... i find it kind of thin.... i really do love the neck shape on my Peavey Wolfgang.... i've often thought about doing a Warmoth build with a Wolfgang neck shape but a 1 11/16th nut wide for an R4 Floyd nut...

Re: guitar similar to a PV wolfgang standard

Check out the new ESP EII STII...pretty much an Axis with a Strat shaped body, which is cool because as much as I love how the Axis plays and sounds, I hate the clown shape. I just could never envision getting up and playing Sabbath or something on a guitar that looks like that. Anyway, the EII, basswood body, flame maple top, original Floyd Rose, and custom wound DiMarzios, maple or rosewood fretboard options, ESP case, $1599 and...you can pull up on the Floyd!

Seen that too, but sure on how the dinarzo would sound compared to the wolfgang PU"s. How would these sound compared to the wolfgang PU's or SD JB

I haven't had the chance to try one, but I'd assume that Steve B went for that general Axis/Wolfie vibe with these since the construction is so similar. These are made in Japan as well so my guess is that they are of flawless build quality..
