Guitars essential to a collection?

Frito's Better Half
What guitars are essential to a well rounded collection? I say:
Rosewood Strat
Maple Strat
Maple Tele
Les Paul/SG (your choice)
Hollowbody (ES=125/130, ect.)
Semi-hollow body (ES-335/355, ect)
One weird ass guitar
A cedar topped classical
spruce topped steelstring/RW
spruce topped steelstring/mahogany
sprice topped 12 string.

Did I leave anything out?

Yeah, a storage room :laugh2:

I see no point in having one of every guitar in my collection especially when a quality guitar with great pickups and proper amplification can nail just about anything that others can do. Maybe it's just me though :smack:

Re: Guitars essential to a collection?

WOW !! You just Almost named my whole collection !! Only thing missing
is a Classical guitar and Storage. I just had a Nylon string POS Classical Guitar I gave away. It was plywood and the neck was Like a Baseball bat.

Re: Guitars essential to a collection?

For me, a metalhead and diehard rocker...

A Les Paul...or for the "collector" sake, numerous Les Pauls! (Numerous bursts! :32:)

A V, because those just scream metal.

If it really came down to it, just the multiple Les Pauls. They're just the perfect axes for me, always have been, always will. :)

Re: Guitars essential to a collection?

A Strat, a LP and a good acoustic would be it for me :)

i agree. my gordon smith covers virtually everything i want it to.

after i get my new amp i'm considering putting money towards getting another one, maybe the semi for a warmer tone
