Guitars I've owned

Wattage

High Voltologist
I thought I saw a thread about this recently but maybe I was dreaming. Here's a list of most of the ones I have had over the years. It isn't 100% complete and it doesn't include any current gear but I've had a few I guess :smack: A few I'd like back too, oh well you live and you never learn :laugh2:

Anyways it borders on chronological sort of -

1978 Royce Les Paul Custom copy – black - my first electric
197? Univox Stratocaster – factory triple humbucker pickups – white
1966 Fender Jaguar – white
1980 Ibanez Iceman – met. blue - my first great guitar
1982 Kramer Duke bass – red - what was I thinking?
1982 Ovation Celebrity Acoustic
1983 custom Flying V bass - gold with VH type stripes
198? Ibanez Roadstar - white
1978 Dean E’Lite – blue burst, early Dean, split V headstock - cool guitar
1985 Schecter USA Telecaster bass – black - best bass I ever owned
197? Hagstrom Swede bass - dark reddish brown stain
1986 Hamer FBIV Nikki Sixx bass - b&w Nikki stripes covered it with holo skulls
1969 Gibson LP Deluxe –green and black repaint - hideous looking great sounding
1987 BC Rich USA Mockingbird – metallic white
Custom Frankenstrat – Kramer and Warmoth parts
3 or 4 Asst. Yamaha and Takamine classical guitars
1988 Fender Jazz Bass Plus – metallic white
1987 Gibson Les Paul Custom – black - great guitar
1989 Heritage USA LP Standard – brown burst - boat anchor from hell
1982 BC Rich Mockingbird – natural koa and mahogany - coolest guitar in the world
195? Harmony Archtop - natural
1989 Gibson Chet Atkins Country Gentleman – red - gorgeous and then some, couldn't ever get it set up right for me, too big I guess
1987 Gibson Les Paul Jr – cherry red - best guitar I ever owned RIP JR I'd give a nut to have this one back in one piece!
1966 Gibson SG Jr. – cherry red
1993 Fender American Standard Telecaster – gun metal blue
1996 Fender MIM Stratocaster – midnight blue
1996 Fernandes Vertigo – seafoam green
2000 Dillion DLPGT56 - goldtop
2000 G&L ASAT Deluxe – cherry sunburst - heaviest Tele on record
200? Epiphone Japan Les Paul Custom – black
2003 Gibson Melody Maker - red

In bold are ones I'd really like to have still. The Jag more so I could sell it for the silly money I've seen ones go for these days but it had a heck of a nice neck.

Re: Guitars I've owned

that's a lot of axes!

I have one guitar I wish I never sold - an early 60s strat I bought used for about $300 in the early 70s. :(

Re: Guitars I've owned

I'll add mine: not a very long list

first guitar: Ibanez GAX 70
Ibanez RG270DX
Schecter C-1 Plus
Schecter PT Elite
Epiphone Les Paul (junk)
Gibson Les Paul Studio(waste of money)
Ibanez S-series 540s I believe. (I hate myself for selling this axe, it's really rare and was one of the best guitars I've ever owned. Sounded amazing too)
Ibanez AEJ Jumbo electric acoustic
Takamine G330s acoustic

Current:

Yamaha CG-101 nylon string
Ibanez AEF-18 electric acoustic
Schecter PT telecaster
Schecter Strat
ESP EC-1000
Parker Nitefly SA

Re: Guitars I've owned

I'd like to see a picture of that Fernandes Vertigo in seafoam green if you still have it, it's hard trying to imagine.

Re: Guitars I've owned

The 66' Jag and the Mockingbirds...standout with out being in bold. I sold
my BF Bassman and found out later it was a 63' Blonde that someone
had spray painted black. :smack: So I know how it feels :blackeye:
I had a sweet Parts-O-caster I had to sell to get my 73' strat neck
back. (long story) When my Dad was in the navy in the early 60's
He had a 56' Strat he left in a locker in Boston. He was shipped out
and never made it back to boston to get it. Last year I took him to GC.
They had a 58' strat on the wall for $13,500... When he saw that...
He looked like he was gonna be Sick! :earl:

I don't have any of those listed anymore but I think may friend Dean my still have the Fernandes? If he does I'll take a pic. It had a whte guard and 2 Armstrong pickups chrome with no poles, it looked like it was right out of a 50's diner.

Spray painting a blonde to black, oh man, what do they call it? Putting a moustache on the Mona Lisa. My Dad sees what nice old Ford Thunderbirds go for now and he has similar feelings to your Dad Ken.

Re: Guitars I've owned

Scott,

If you still had all of them, you could have opened your own store: You could have called it "Wattage Center" and beaten GC to the punch :laugh2:

:eek2: :eek2: :eek2:

"Er... my name's Scott and I'm a guitaroholic" :nervous:

:) Wow, I've had nothing like that many. The only ones I wish I'd never sold are:

1971 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe - goldtop
1974 Gibson SG Standard - walnut
1980 Fender Telecaster - black

That goldtop Deluxe was a beaut! :crying:

Re: Guitars I've owned

I have three that I wished I had never sold:

1969 Les Paul Deluxe - Goldtop

1967 SG Standard (Big guard)

A mid-'60's Gretsch Tennessean (beautiful in burgandy)

I traded a 1973 Strat for the LP Custom I have now, and I haven't regretted that trade for a minute

Jeff

I think about it everyday trust me...............

Wattage's House of Guitars and Kustom Kulture!

The Vertigo wasn't so hot unfortunately, sounded OK but as cool as it looked the neck would tend to shift pretty easily. If I get it back I'll just set it up for slide work most likely.

You had one too. We should form a support group. :laugh2:

One of these days I'm gonna crack and go on a credit-card-fuelled goldtop-deluxe-buying rampage. :argh:

me, i have yet to get rid of a guitar and dont plan on it....

Re: Guitars I've owned

I had quite a few guitars too, though nowhere as many as some of you guys. Let's see... I'm only listing those that I sold:
1. Vebr clone of Jackson RR, lemon yellow with blue sparkles ...
2. Gibson LP Studio, '92 Wine Red, the best guitar I've ever had ... RIP ... It's been two years since I sold it, and one year since I first regretted it. The best tone, though heavy as hell. Will I ever get another one that'll even come close?
3. Epiphone Flying V, black, sounded nice with Gibbo 496T/500T pups when distorted
4. Kramer Balalaika-shaped V with single HB and a Floyd Rose
5. Vintage Czech Jolana hollowbody (had it restored out of a wreckage)
6. Delta - a Kramer basically, HSS+ Floyd Rose, sounded good with SD pups
7. Dean European Korina Custom V, cherry red gorgeous with gold hardware, sounded yum-yum with Alnico II Pros
8. Epiphone LP Special DC (sounded way cool with SkyP-90s)
9. Squier Standard Telecaster (perhaps my most versatile guitar ever)
10. Most recently ... sold last August: a custom made PRS Santana-alike body mated to a Spector Blackhawk neck. I had waited for that guitar so long that when I finally got it I was disappointed and sold it after two months. That one was pretty but sounded very hard and brittle.
11. George Dennis LTD - a 24-fret shred machine with a FR and HSS config. Thin neck, small body, no tone. It's still up for sale at a shop.
