Guitars...

Well.....as you know I got tired of the electric guitars awhile ago.....guess wintertime got the better of me!?!
Anyways I was sick and tired of them.....tried to sell them, had both my CS Fenders for sale at the shop where I sometimes work as a repairman.

My mate kept them for me....haha
I played a ton on my acoustics, was a welcome break... ;)
Made me more relaxed over the whole thing, and I improved on a few things that had bothered me.

In short I got over the urge to kill off my electrics!

Pictures!

Re: Guitars...

Well thank heavens for that, because you'd have gotten a thorough telling-off for flogging such juicy and rare Ibbies :D.

Re: Guitars...

You better not let go of that Jeff Beck Strat. I'd have to fly over there and go viking on you...LOL.

Taking a break here and there can be a good thing.

Re: Guitars...

I'm glad you didn't get rid of everything. I remember when you got that strat, you were very happy about it!

Re: Guitars...

Haha oh that was a moment of crazy...but also liberating in some ways!
Oh that Strat really is something....same with the Tele...
And my Ibanez guitars was never for sale...they do not make stuff like that anymore!

What I find to be the most amusing thing about those Fenders, they sound fantastic and all that, but they where not assembled all that very good, the Tele has tuning issues, the holes for the tuners where too small...had to correct that, the nut was filed wrong....had to correct that as well, the org CTS pots rattled....got the kick too, I changed the pickups to Micro Coils, just a personal preference, the org Broadcasters where good, took off the old bridge as well, stuffed in a Gotoh with the same sonic properties as the old one, but with this I could the intonation right.

Changed the necks angle slightly as well.....same with the Beck strat, had to change the bridge after a measly two years of use, the plate was worn out.....??? Took out the Hot Noiseless pickups as well....also replaced them with Wilde 280-290 pickups, took out the CTS pots as well, changed the caps as well.
Gonna remove the Spetzels someday too....they have an odd slack, even with new grease they still do not work smoothly.
The LSR nut is on the fence....might replace it with some Tusq one instead!

One should not think that I had to do all that extra small stuff to them, they did cost a good deal of money after all.....
While the Ibanez ones......I changed the pickups to Wilde ones...that was that.....
And they are old and much played!
Sound just as good if not better in some ways, but I like the Strat and Tele alot as they have that certain tone to them.....

But those little unfinished things they had......why is it that they are unable to make them work out of the box???

The acoustics are an entirely different matter, the Seagull I just changed strings on, have been playing it ever since....no thinking no need to attend to small details that needed work, same with the La Patrie nylon(Godin rocks)

Anyways I am happy about them, they more than fulfill my needs( way overkill really)

Re: Guitars...

The good news is that your guitars won't hold it against you that you spent time with other guitars.

Re: Guitars...

I'll give you 300 double dollars and all the donuts you can eat for the tele.
;) Haha I think you'll have to pony up about 3700$ for this one....and it is a limited version as well....150 made....and since the insane period of sales thoughts has passed....not for sale :)

Heh with guitars I have a more partners style of life :D
So I guess they won't be mad at me....hopefully...
