Guyatone MD3 Micro Delay Pedal

Re: Guyatone MD3 Micro Delay Pedal

even thou it's digital, can it sound like as if it's analog?

i heard a lot of comments that it sounds like a Boss DM-3

Re: Guyatone MD3 Micro Delay Pedal

The little guyatones are all pretty cool...Got a vintage trem myself

Re: Guyatone MD3 Micro Delay Pedal

hehe it's small, and i really like that. but can it be powered with a 9V batt? or it only works on DC power supplies?

are all these pedals, specifically the MD-3, made in Japan?

Re: Guyatone MD3 Micro Delay Pedal

Mine is two years old. Made in Japan and will accept a 9 volt battery, The rubber gasket is the only thing that holds the bottom cover on the unit so I always power mine with a GodLyke PowerAll adaptor.

Re: Guyatone MD3 Micro Delay Pedal

i just checked some reviews, and people are complaining about the Battery compartment being too tight-packed. Anybody has a say on this?

o yea, to users or the ones who have tried this model: are these true bypass?

Re: Guyatone MD3 Micro Delay Pedal

dont think any guyatones are true bypass (i have the tuner), but delays would be the one effect you wouldn't want true bypass- you couldn't have the echos 'trail off' if it were, and that effect is so darn cool.

MIJ really doesn't mean what it used to back in the 80's when Korea, Taiwan etc were lacking in quality.

These days theres really no difference in where something is made unless we are talking about skilled labour making things by hand, which no Boss, DOD, Guyatone etc pedal is doing

Re: Guyatone MD3 Micro Delay Pedal

I have one, I've always used my DC Brick to power it. It doesn't sound analog at all, I had it right next to a DM3 awhile back.

ah okay, thanks. anyway how did you like your Guyatone MD3? does it get noisy with the DC brick? how about in batteries?

The DM3 is the Boss, and you can't run it with the DC Brick because it needs an AC power supply (I'm pretty sure that is correct, it has been a long time, although I still have it). The DM3 eats through batteries in no time. The MD3 I've never had any noise issues with.

oh shux! it should have been MD-3 not DM3, my bad... thanks anyways

Re: Guyatone MD3 Micro Delay Pedal

mine wasn't noisy at all. I really liked it, but I moved up to a DD-3, and now I'm using a DLS Tap-Echo...man what a great pedal. But that Guyatone is definitely one I wouldn't mind having around as a second delay!
