...today for my birthday tomorrow.

Who's using it and what do you think about it?

Any tips you'd like to share with me and other GT-8 users?

I'm all ears!

I suggest running it through a real tube amp when playing live... and when recording, run it through a tube mic preamp

+1 for a tube amp. i used one through a traynor ycv40 red and a 50 blue and it sounded phenomenal. i just wish there was a way to completely turn off the amp modeling and use it only for effects. i'd buy the unit for the effects alone. unfortunatly, even though you can create presets without the amp modeling, it sounds like hell.

congratulations, i think you're going to love it. and if you don't, i'll buy it from you for 1/2 price :dunno:

actually it's very easy to use it for effects alone.. just don't turn on the pedals or amp models.. you can even use the 4 cable method (read about it at bossgtcentral.com) to put your amp's pre-amp in the loop of the GT-8 so that you can insert it anywhere in the effects chain

i use a gt-pro which is a gt-8 with a few more connections. go to the Boss GT Central forums for lots of info about it.

i've been gasing for a GT8 for a while.... it sounds great to me that you can connect the distortion and overdrive sounds before the amp and then place the Time Based Effects in the FX Loop
