H-S-S routing with RwRP

Hello there!

I have noob question :) because I always had a single coil sized humbucker on the Middle position with a H-S-S routing and I kind of have a crush for the SSL-52 !!!
I would like to know if a Middle RwRP (true single coil) will be hum-cancelling.

It can cancel hum with the other humbuckers if you split them, but it can't cancel hum on its own. Also it's unnecessary to get the rwrp which costs extra, the regular one can hum cancel with the other pickups the same.

To hum canceling with another single coil it has to be RQRP relative to that particular single coil..

Fender and SD pickups are, I believe and for example, wound in opposite directions to begin with. Therefore you may get away with a "regular" SD single coil in the middle, I don't know for sure.

Also, you may not get the results you want with, say,, Fender neck and bridge and a SD RWRP in the middle.

With an HSH setup it'll have to work with the correct coils in the humbuckers. I don't know which ones those are, but you may find if you want to use one set of coils you'll need a RWRP single coil, but with the other set you need a regular single coil.

Someone more knowledgeable than me needed here.

Ty ty, it just haven't crossed my mind at all, this is such an elegant solution.

Read what SD told me and I posted today.

If you're using the north (slug) coils - black and white wires - in your coil split, you don't need a RWRP. If you're using the south (screw) coils - red and white wires - in your coil split you do need a RWRP.
