Had my first gig with my Egnater Tweaker 15!

It was at a medium sized bar, maybe around 80 people there. Didn't mic my amp because it wasn't really needed. Used my 1x12 cab.

For a change I used my SSS AllParts Strat. It's making much sweeter sounds with this tiny tube head than it's ever done before.

Put the master around 3 o' clock, and adjusted the volume with the preamp gain. Dialed in some extra mids and bass and went a bit conservative on the treble.

Since we played a lot of covers I used a Marshall Jackhammer to get more variety tonewise. Had my Memory Toy and my Boss GE7 in the loop for a mid/volume boost for solos.

It was pretty loud actually and didn't suffer with headroom at all, not even close!
Compared with my Cube 60, the detail in the sound is incredible. It's clearer yet warmer at the same time.
I normally use humbuckers, I don't really like super bright sounds, but through this rig the Strat sounds SO warm and full I was laughing during the sound check!

What a change it is, to play with a tube amp live.
The mids have a warmth that makes me grin as I think about it, now. :D
I've never sounded better, man.

The other guitar player in my band uses a Marshall MG250 and after this gig, he's decided to sell it and get a Vox Night Train.

I love my Tweaker!

Way to go, sounds like you had a blast. Glad you're digging the amp.

It's a great feeling to have a tube amp cranked to it's sweet spot for a gig......not always possible with louder amps.

I'm curious to know what level the volume and gain was at your gig. I've been putting off buying a Tweaker for a long time, but it's one amp I want to own eventually.

Diego, I knew you'd love the Tweaker. Great little amp with big tone. I'm very happy for you.

Getting that great tube tone puts a smile on our faces and magic in in our fingers. (Even with a Strat).

Re: Had my first gig with my Egnater Tweaker 15!

Hahaha, nothing against Strats here! It's just that I had issues making mine sound alright with my old amp.

Re: Had my first gig with my Egnater Tweaker 15!

Yeah. I got ya. I'm just trying to mess with STRATDELUXER97.

I actually love my Strat. I just don't play it much. I've got too many guitars that I love to play. I can't seem to be very monogamous.

Re: Had my first gig with my Egnater Tweaker 15!

I tell you what I was thinking of ditching my Tweaker since it wasn't getting a lot of use but I figured before I do let e kick it around a bit more. I have really gotten back into this amp.

I had a pair of grey plate RCA 6v6's put into it a while back when the stock PT's blew up but I never really messed with it. I have gotten so many great sounds of it the last few weeks that I don't know why I missed them so easily before. I am thinking the speaker is finally really breaking in which helps, especially with the in between sounds.

Re: Had my first gig with my Egnater Tweaker 15!

This thread gives me GAS for a tweaker!
Been reading so much good things about it on this forum... Must resist...
Way to go Diego, A strat though a good amp can yield some pretty good tones. You probably got some hum from the single coils... not too bad?

Re: Had my first gig with my Egnater Tweaker 15!

I've been debating between this and the Blackstar ht1r/ht5r and the micro terror and you may have just sold me!

Re: Had my first gig with my Egnater Tweaker 15!

Buy it. :)

I'm not saying it's THE BESTEST DEAL EVER and of course new products have shown up since 2012.
But the Tweaker holds its own just fine. Incredibly flexible and toneful.

Only bad thing on it's side is that it's a bit shy on the bass, but an EQ on the FX loop does solve that quickly and doesn't fart out at loud volumes if you do that.
